Grizz Finish off Playoff Picture

The Memphis Grizzlies edged out a tough Phoenix Suns team to clinch the playoffs and knock out the Suns of contention. The playoffs are now all set with the Grizz win, here are some impact performances of that game: Grizzlies-  Zach Randoph 32 points, 9 rebounds Suns- Goran Dragic, Eric Bledsoe and Markieff Morris combined: 48 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists. Here are the most probable NBA playoff matchups: East– #1 Pacers vs. #8 Hawks , #2 Heat vs. #7 Bobcats , #3 Raptors vs. #6 Wizards , #4 Bulls vs. #5 Nets West– #1 Spurs vs. #8 Grizzlies , #2 Thunder vs. #7 Mavericks, #3 Clippers vs. #6 Warriors, #4 Rockets vs. #5 Blazers The West has dominated he NBA so much that only the Heat and Pacers would have at least MADE the playoffs in the West out of all of the teams out east. The Pelicans, Kings, Jazz and Lakers are the only teams that wouldn’t make the East playoffs from the West (the Nuggets wold join them if they lose 1 of their remaining games). The Hawks made the playoffs but are 7 games UNDER 500% this year! They are the only losing record playoff team this year…. I’m READY for the playoffs of 2014! News: The most decorated olympian EVER, Swimmer Michael Phelps is coming out of retirement and coming back into the pool again....

Milwaukee is BREWING Away to 1st

The Brewers are off to their best start to the season since going 13-0 in ’87. The Brew Crew’s pitching has been great lately with the bullpen shining and starting pitching on top. Their batting has been great with Ryan Braun and Carlos Gomez hitting like silver sluggers already!   In yesterday’s game vs the Pirates, Milwaukee dominated with Kyle Lohse improving both the Brewers and his career record vs the Pirates to 10-2 with 9 K’s over 8.2 innings. Watch out for the BREWERS!!!   The Mets had a disappointing 14-2 loss vs. the Angels yesterday, new pitcher Bartolo Colon was the losing pitcher and let up 9 runs in 5 innings including 3 straight homers! C.J Wilson was the winning pitcher for L.A. The Mets need to fix some things up quickly and get right back in the East race… The Masters are over and Bubba Watson has won it all once again hitting -8 and winning the Green Jacket. Jonas Blixt came in 2nd and 20 year old Jordan Spieth came in 3rd almost beating Tiger Woods record for youngest golfer to win the Masters. Congrats to Bubba on the special award of the prestigious Green Jacket….  ...

UConn Wins it ALL Again!

Yes, UConn‘s mens and women’s team won the NCAA championship after Women’s UConn beat Norte Dame 79-58. UConn went 40-0 through the season and tourney and ND went 37-1. Brianna Stewart had 21 points and 9 boards in the big win. This is the 2nd time a college has won both championships, who did it? UConn . This is UConn’s 9th championship and that surpassed the Tennessee Lady Volunteers. Great win for UConn… Kevin Durant’s streak of 25 point games was snapped last night when he scored 23 against Sacramento. OKC still won by 15. In baseball, Mets new pitcher Bartolo Colon pitched 7 scoreless innings in the Mets 4-0 win vs. the Braves. There were many before the game celebrations because yesterday 40 years ago, the legendary slugger Hank Aaron surpassed the great bambino Babe Ruth’s all-time home runs. This record looked impossible to many but Aaron did it. This record still may be impossible because Barry Bonds current record may be taken away due to the still pending investigation on use of illegal PEDs. Aaron has the most RBI’s in MLB history and maybe the best slugger to EVER...

Huskies Win It All!

The Uconn Huskies were the victors of last night’s national championship.   UConn was led by Shabazz Napier with 22 points and 6 rebounds and the best player of the Final 4 award.  I could see a ghost of former Uconn Superstar PG Kemba Walker in Shabazz , Kemba is now with the Charlotte Bobcats who finally clinched the playoffs last week. This is coach Kevin Olllie‘s 1st championship in his 1st season with UConn. The Kentucky Wildcats were led by James Young with 20 points and 7 boards. The underdog can always win and UConn did just...

Mets Win 2nd game in a Row

The Mets won their 2nd game in a row Saturday with a 6-3 win vs. the Reds.  With Dillon Gee pitching for the Mets, he let up 3 runs to the Reds in 7 innings of pitching, he earned a no decision in the win.  After going 2 games hitless, Mets OF Curtis Granderson has 4 hits on 15 tries, a home run and 3 RBI’s. If he keeps this up, this can be a real  bright spot this year for NY.  The Mets were down 3-2 to Cincy with their 2 coming from a Grandy homer. I turned on the TV in the bottom of the 9th and something magical happened. A rally started with now electric OF Juan Lagares drawing a walk, then with backup catcher Anthony Recker up, he bunted to move over Lagares and prevent the double play. But Recker was safe at 1st because the Reds tried to get Lagares at 2nd, at first Lagares was called out but Mets manager Terry Collins challenged the ruling and then Lagares was safe at second base. SS Ruben Tejada was supposed to be replaced by Ike Davis as a so Davis could bat but instead, Tejada stayed at bat and walked to load the bases. Now with the pitcher up, Davis stepped up to the plate. Why was Davis pinch hitting? He lost his 1B job to Lucas Duda who hit 2 homers in the Mets...
