The Mets won their 2nd game in a row Saturday with a 6-3 win vs. the Reds.  With Dillon Gee pitching for the Mets, he let up 3 runs to the Reds in 7 innings of pitching, he earned a no decision in the win.  After going 2 games hitless, Mets OF Curtis Granderson has 4 hits on 15 tries, a home run and 3 RBI’s. If he keeps this up, this can be a real  bright spot this year for NY.  The Mets were down 3-2 to Cincy with their 2 coming from a Grandy homer. I turned on the TV in the bottom of the 9th and something magical happened. A rally started with now electric OF Juan Lagares drawing a walk, then with backup catcher Anthony Recker up, he bunted to move over Lagares and prevent the double play. But Recker was safe at 1st because the Reds tried to get Lagares at 2nd, at first Lagares was called out but Mets manager Terry Collins challenged the ruling and then Lagares was safe at second base. SS Ruben Tejada was supposed to be replaced by Ike Davis as a so Davis could bat but instead, Tejada stayed at bat and walked to load the bases. Now with the pitcher up, Davis stepped up to the plate. Why was Davis pinch hitting? He lost his 1B job to Lucas Duda who hit 2 homers in the Mets 1st game vs the Reds. Davis smacked the ball out of the park and hit a very, very rare, Walk-off, pinch-hit, GRAND SLAM! The Mets won 6-3 and davis got his pie in the face.  J.J Hoover was charged with the loss and Carlos Torres got the win. The Mets are now 2-3 and in last in a NL East that is winning everything. They have 1 more game vs. the Reds today then they play division rival, the Atlanta Braves.

Here is a quick recap on last night’s Final 4… A surprising UConn team shocked the world last night beating a powerful Florida team 63-53 to advance to the finals. Florida’s last loss of their 30 game win streak was against UConn when Shabazz Napier hit a buzzer-beater to beat them. Uconn held Scottie Wilbekin to only 4 points. Patric Young was the only thing Florida got with 19 points. This was UF’s lowest point total, 3pt total (1), assists (3) and losing their quick big lead. For UConn DeAndre Daniels had 20 points and 10 rebounds in the win and the other starters combined for 37 points.

Kentucky and Wisconsin played in the other game of the final 4, despite being an 8 seed, UK won the game 74-73. Who was the hero, it was again Aaron Harrison. Harrison hit ANOTHER GW 3 to win the game vs. Wisconsin with 5.7 sec left in the game.  Harrison hit the GW 3 against Louisville in the sweet 16 with 39 seconds left, another one vs. Michigan with 2 sec and this one in 1 tourney! The Wildcat Fab 5 of Freshman starters combined for 60 points in the win and held Wisconsin’s big man Frank Kaminsky to only 8 points.  UK has beaten Wisconsin, Michigan, Louisville and Wichita St. in their run all by less than 10 and never lead at half. Uk has been a Cinderella story and has a strong chance at winning it all on monday, the Michigan Fab 5 ghosts have returned!!!

The Championship between #8 Kentucky and #7 UConn is the highest combined # of the 2 seeds in the finals history. Look for this to be a GREAT GAME.
