I’m Back!

My summer sabbatical is over and I am back to blogging! I had a terrific summer at Camp this year! I loved all my friends and the fact I got to play sports all day, every day. I may have not had my eyes glued to a device all summer, but I’ve stayed tuned in the sports world with the help of my counselors and a big shout out for Mark Carberry who was Mr.Sports in the morning and kept our whole boys side tuned in on everything we missed from baseball scores, to the basketball off-season, to social media and lastly, but most memorably, his Bo-Sox who currently sit in last by 14.5 gms ;( . As he always said: “Get the rye, get the mustard, because today’s gonna’ be a grannnd Salami of a day!” And before you know it, you’re counting down to summer 2015. Now here I am, blogging again… Yesterday the Mets lost 2-1 to the Cubbies after beating them twice in a row. In Queens, that’s good baseball 🙂 .After a Grandy RBI, the Mets kept it tied 1 all going into the 9th and you could guess what happened. Classic Met letdown on a Starlin Castro HR in he top of the 9th.  This puts NYM at a 59-66 record, 7 below 500. And before the season we were talking about 90...

Rangers Lose in Return to Cup

The Rangers lost game 1 of the Stanley Cup to the Kings 3-2 last night in OT. Henrik Lundqvist saved 40 shots in a terrific outing but let 3 roll in including the game winner. The Rangers did jump out to an early 2-0 lead through 2, but the Kings came back with 2 great goals and the game winner. This is the 1st loss from the Rangers in gm. 1 so far in this whole post-season. Game 2 is in LA and games 3 and 4 come back to the big apple… 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick signed the largest deal for a QB in the NFL with a 6 year, $110 M contract with the 49ers. $61 M of that is guaranteed. This deal now has the Super Bowl and NFC runner-up QB locked in and can focus on other players to...

Rangers Go Down 3-1 vs. Pens

The Penguins have taken so many advantages of Ranger mistakes and turned them into benefits, especially defense which showed last night. The Penguins scored 4 goals on King Henrik Lundqvist yesterday mostly on defensive mistakes.  The Rangers needed a big boost from the crowd, only boo’s came out. Now Down 3-1 in the series and 3 more games in Pittsburgh, the Rangers are in big trouble, they need to win their next 3 to win the series. They need more shots and GOALS! They have only scored 5 goals in the series. The Pens have scored 12! The Rangers must get something going in order to win. The NFL Draft is TODAY! I am psyched! I wonder what awaits with the Block-Buster trades and great or horrible picks. I just worry about the Jets doing something dumb, well, the’ve definitely learned before (Brady Draft, Marino Draft.)  So, J-E-T-S, JETS JETS JETS! The Mets have now fell to under 500 (16-17) after losing to the Marlins 1-0 on ANOTHER walk-off hit by the Fish. That is 3 walk-offs given up in their last 5 for the Mets, (11-10 to Colorado, 4-3 to Marlins and 1-0 to the Marlins). The Mets need to pick themselves up and score some runs. They have been shut out in their last 2. Hopefully they can move up in the NL East order now a...

“All Aboard”! BLOWOUT CENTRAL!

The NBA  round 2 playoffs started yesterday with 2 blowouts.   Despite blowout day 1, I think these series can be extremely close. Here are the scores from yesterday…   Nets     86             Deron Williams- 17 points, 3 rebounds and assists Heat    107           LeBron James- 22 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists   Spurs  116           Tony Parker- 33 points, 9 assists, 3 rebounds Blazers 92           LaMarcus Aldridge- 32 points, 14 rebounds And I thought these games (above) were going to be to the end! I really like the Nets vs. Heat series, it reminds me of a Boston vs. Miami game last year (but Boston just got better)…  In the end, Miami has THE Big 3 and is potentially splitting up, so they will and can win this series but not without some major road-blocks. The Blazers vs. Spurs series should be good but Portland doesn’t have enough good players to defeat San Antonio’s stars, and the fact that Portland is a young team with a potential. I have Spurs in 6… The NFL Draft is tomorrow!!!!!!!   I am soooooooooooo excited!!!!! Hopefully my Jets will make a good move, maybe going with Odell Beckham jr. to boost their speedy offense.  The Jets are building a fast,...

Doomed Already?

The NFL schedule has been released and i’m sure it will be a great one! But some teams are looking at their schedule like it’s a nightmare for their team, like me and the Jets. I still think they can pull out an over 500 record. Here are my top few games I am looking forward to: (not in order) Broncos @ Seahawks in a heated Super Bowl matchup Packers @ Seahawks , great way to start off the season NFL, this is the rematch of the famous “fail mary” , look it up… Broncos @ Patriots for Brady and Manning’s matchup again, their were 2 really great match-ups last year and now the teams are even better, this is a really great game. Patriots @ Jets will mark Darrelle Revis’s 2nd matchup with NY of his career. He has now became another player to switch sides in the rivalry. Redskins @ Eagles, was DeSean Jackson really released from Philly because of off the field problems? Probably not but this rematch with his former team which he did great with in his career should be good. Patriots @ Packers will have 2 of the most iconic QB’s ( Brady and Rodgers) in a rare match-up of the teams. Look for maybe a playoff prediction on my blog soon!  ...
