deGrom Can’t Get it Done in Loss

Jacob deGrom made his 2nd Major League start yesterday for the Mets. He took a loss in his 1st game against the Bronx Bombers despite only letting up 1 run. In this game against the Dodgers, he got a little roughed up going 6 innings, striking out 4 batters and letting up 3 homers (all solo) and taking the loss. This is a start to learn from for deGrom. deGrom’s pitching has been great so far despite 2 pitching losses.  The game came down to 1 play, with 1 out in the 8th inning, the Mets walked Yasiel Puig to put runners on the corners setting up a double play. Hanley Ramirez was up for LA, he bounced one to the pitcher, Jeurys Familia, Familia turned around to throw to 2nd base but 2 Mets covered 2nd and Familia hesitated to throw, once he threw into the confusion, runners were safe at home and 1st! A disappointing mental error charged the Mets from getting the win. A 9th inning rally couldn’t do anything when David Wright surprisingly struck out to end a great hitting day. The Final score- Mets 3     Dodgers 4 On a personal note, congrats to our southern friend Alan on the 2 wins by the Dodgers… ROLL TIDE The Spurs dominated the Thunder last night winning 112-77 and completely shutting down the Thunder’s offensive...

King Henrik Shines in Win

The NY Rangers are now 2 wins away from the Stanley Cup Finals after beating the Montreal Canadiens 3-1. Henrik Lundqvist shined like gold in the win saving 40-41 shots by the Canadiens. The fans for Montreal are all hockey, and all booing their home-team after 2 disappointing outings. Their star, starting goalie, Carey Price is out for the playoffs after getting hurt with Ranger, Chris Kreider on a collision in gm. 1.  That made Montreal make a tough decision and put in 3rd stringer Dustin Tokarski. Tokarski made 27-30 saves in his 1st career playoff start. The Rangers got goals from Martin St.Louis who has been EN FUEGO during the playoffs,  Rick Nash who scored his 1st goal of the playoffs in gm. 1 after 50+ misses and Ryan McDonagh.  Game 3 and 4 are in MSG so the Rangers are in a position to play well behind their fans. In the NBA, the Spurs defeated the Thunder 122-105 in gm. 1 of the Western Conference Finals. The Spurs blew out the Thunder from great starting and bench play. Tim Duncan scored 27 points now not guarding Serge Ibaka who is out for the playoffs. Duncan also had 7 boards. Manu Ginobili scored 18 points off the bench in the win, Tony Parker scored 14 points and dished 12 assists in the win. Kawhi Leonard and Danny Green...

George is TOO MUCH For The Heat!

Paul George rocked game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals scoring 24 points, 7 dimes and 4 boards. The Pacers were dropping 3’s the whole game which led them to a 107-96 win. Every starter scored 15+ points in the win on the Pacers.  For Miami, LeBron James had 25 points, 10 boards and 5 assists in the Game 1 loss.  Only James and Wade scored double-digit points out of all of the starters.  On the bench, Birdman and Ray Allen were the only players to score double-digits and at least score! The Heat needddddd more scoring production from their players to win. Game 2 is in Indy… The Blackhawks got 3 goals from Brandon Saad, Duncan Keith and Jonathan Toews to win Game 1, 3-1 against the Kings. This should be a great series but Kings Goalie Jonathan Quick must stay consistent and prevent the powerful Blackhawks from lighting the lamp. Tonight the Rangers and Canadiens will face off in Gm. 2 of the series after the Rangers whopped them 7-2.  Things are looking good for the Rangers right now, I can see that Stanley Cup trophy in the...
