Happy Memorial Day!  Yesterday was an amazing day in sports! Here’s a recap on all the big news!

1- Josh Beckett throws no-hitter:  Dodgers veteran pitcher, Josh Beckett threw his 1st career no-hitter against the Phillies on Sunday. Beckett walked 3 and struck out 6 in the Dodgers 6-0 win.  Adrian Gonzalez went 3-4 with 2 RBI’s in the win…

2- Rangers defeat Canadiens: The New York Rangers are now 1 win a way from the Stanley Cup Championship after beating the Montreal Candiens 3-2 in OT. Martin St.Louis carried the Rangers through these playoffs after his mom passed away, he has played so good in the playoffs. Now he has a OT winning goal to show off. Carl Hagelin scored a Short Handed goal and Derek Brassard scored too. Game 5 is on Tuesday when the Rangers will head to Bell Centre with a 3-1 series lead and a chance to finish history.

3- Ryan Hunter-Reay wins Indy 500:  Finally there’s an American kissing the bricks! Ryan Hunter-Reay became the 1st American to win the Indy 500 since 2006! Hunter-Reay won by the 2nd smallest margin (0.60 sec.) in Indy 500 history!  Also in racing, Jimmie Johnson won the Nascar Sprint Cup Series in Charlotte. Kevin Harvick finished 2nd followed by Matt Kenseth. This is Johnson’s 1st win of the year and he is in 6th place standing 44 points below the leader Jeff Gordon.

4- Thunder defeat Spurs- With Serge Ibaka back in the lineup for OKC, the Thunder took Game 3 106-97 now only trailing 2-1 in the series. The Spurs looked to have full control in Games 1 – 2, but Serge Ibaka let the Thunder surge in the win with 15 points, 4 blocks and 7 boards. Kevin Durant double-doubled with 25 points and 10 boards. Reggie Jackson started the game beside Russell Westbrook to add some much needed O with 15 points. With Ibaka back, this series is ‘gonna get interesting. Game 4 is @ Chesapeake Arena in OKC with San Antonio leading 2-1 in the series.

5- What to watch: If you relaxing today, here’s what you can find on Memorial day:  Baseball- everyone plays today so cheer on your favorite team! Basketball-  At 8:30, the Pacers will play the Heat in game 4 of their series @ American Airlines Arena in Miami. The Heat have a 2-1 lead in the series. Hockey- At 9:00, The Blackhawks and Kings will face off in LA. The Kings have the series lead 2-1 going into tonights Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals…
