SUPRISE! Yesterday their were 2 surprises all around sports. Basketball: Yesterday the Bulls faced off against the Heat in round 1 of the eastern conference semi-finals. This year the Bulls had the win to stop the Heat’s 27 game win-streak. This was a big advantage to the Bulls which led them to a win last night in game 1. I am hoping the Bulls will win to make the playoffs more exciting if the Heat aren’t creaming everyone. What will this series end like? Hockey: Yesterday the NY Rangers faced off against the Capitals in game 3 of their series. The Rangers were down 2-0 and won 4-3 last night to turn that 0 into a 1. There catching up! Now every series is close in the NBA playoffs when James Harden and the Rockets beat the Thunder last night to put the series to 3-2 after the Thunder led 3-0. The Knicks lost last night to the Celtics to put the series to 3-2 after the Knicks led 3-0. No team has won the series after being down 3-0. Teams have been to Game 7’s but never won. Yesterday was a day of WOW’s. It started yesterday when Free – Agent center Jason Collins who is 34 announced that he was gay becoming the first male athlete to say so. In his 12 season career he has played for 6 different teams. After announcing this the best players from all – over the sports world were sending nice tweets on his bravery. Also yesterday the Nets and Rockets stayed alive when the Bulls and Rockets almost ended their seasons. So far the Heat will move on with the Spurs after sweeping their matchup. That’s a first!

Yesterday was the NFL draft and their were MANY firsts and surprises. Here’s a first! 3 Offensive linemen were drafted in the 1st 4 picks. The Chiefs selected Eric Fisher out of Central Michigan, with the second pick the Jaguars selected Luke Joeckel out of Texas A&M and with the 3rd pick the Raiders traded their pick to the Dolphins to select Dion Jordan. The second surprise was that the Bills ended up picking QB E.J Manuel when they could of picked QB Geno Smith, Matt Barkley or Ryan Nassib who should of been their biggest option. The Jets ended up picking CB Dee Milliner out of Alabama with the 9th pick and DT Sheldon Richardson out of Missouri. Now the Biggest surprise was that the best QB’s like Matt Barkley out of USC, Geno Smith out of West Virginia and Ryan Nassib out of Syracuse were undrafted and the their team is TBA tonight. Some other notable players who were undrafted were: Running Backs Eddie Lacy out of Alabama and Montee Ball out of Wisconsin. Their were no RB drafted last night.
