Amidst the horrendous struggles of Green Bay, and official firing of the highly scrutinized HC Mike McCarthy; there’s been a hidden storyline that no one seems to want to admit.
. . .
Mike McCarthy was just effectively SCAPEGOATED for Aaron Rodgers’ struggles.
. . . . .
Before I start, let me make one thing clear; I do not think Aaron Rodgers is bad at all. I think he’s one of the top three most talented QB’s ever as a matter of fact. And even this season, he’s only thrown one interception so it’s not a horrific drop off by any means. Additionally, I also think McCarthy’s time in GB was completely finished, so I’m not doubting the decision.
. . .
Though, it’s clear that NO ONE wants to admit that Rodgers deserves some of the blame that McCarthy has received.
. . .
Yes, the play calling has been awful, but RODGERS is the captain of this team. RODGERS is the one playing the game. HE needs to execute more than ANYONE!
. . .
Frankly, there is no excuse in my book for his stat line (pictured above) and result against the lowly 2-9 Cardinals AT HOME, with the season ON THE LINE!
. . .
I’m curious to see how Rodgers will do under Philbin and the eventual new HC, but it’s crazy not to consider his struggles self-initiated when it’s all said and done.
. . . . .
