Duda Powers Mets to Victory

The Mets improved their record to 6-7 with a nice 7-3 win over the D-Backs last night. Zach Wheeler had his 3rd start for the Mets this year striking out 3 and letting up 2 runs in his 6.1 innings of work. Carlos Torres got the save for the Mets coming in for 2.2 innings and throwing 2 K’s.  First Baseman Lucas Duda was the star of the game and had 4 hits and 2 RBI’s in the win. Third Baseman David Wright had 2 RBI’s on a single and a sacrifice ground-out. For Arizona, all of their runs were batted in by Catcher Miguel Montero on a double, single and sac-fly. Josh Collomenter took the loss for the D-Backs with 3 earned runs allowed in only 4 innings of work. The relief pitching was just as disappointing for the D-Backs letting up 4 runs in the loss. The Mets took 2 scares in this game from OF Curtis Granderson and OF Juan Lagares.  Lagares was pulled from the game in the 7th from a strained hammy and Granderson was injured after he made a spectacular catch in the outfield but dropped the ball after colliding with the OF wall and stayed in the game but left to reported rib and left forearm injuries.
