Remember the Henrik Lundqvist who was the all-star goalie 2 years ago? We think he’s back, Rangers goalie who will play for Sweden in the Olympics, is playing like his old self these days. Henrik had a shut-out last night vs. The Red Wings. Nobody scored in the 1st 2 periods and in the 3rd Mats Zuccarello scored the game winning goal! Wing’s goalie Jimmy Howard had a great game with 47 saves on 48 shots , Lundqvist had 38 saves. He won a star from the Rangers 3 stars of the game. NFL: the Jets gave coach Rex Ryan a contract through 2015. If the Jets build a receiving core and either make Geno Smith consistent of get a new QB. Anyone like the Browns?

The Browns are the line team left without a head coach. Yesterday the Vikings hired defensive mind Mike Zimmer. He was the Defensive Coordinator for the Bengals who were great on D in points allowed and interceptions. Minnesota on the other hand, was the opposite of that. He’s coached in college on D from 1979 to ’93. In the NFL he coached the Cowboys from ’94 to ’06 as a DC and a DB coach and won a Super Bowl. Then he was a DC with the Falcons in ’07 and Bengals DC to last season. The Vikings have the 8th pick of the draft. Now the Browns are the lone team without a coach. Who will they pick? The Patriots reported some unexpected news yesterday, backup QB Ryan Mallett was taking 1st team reps because Tom Brady was sick. Look for him to be back next practice. Tennis: wow it is hot at the Australian Open, it was 107 degrees there! We saw some big wins go to the favorites today. Probably there will be the same temp today. Caldwell to Motor City

The Lions found their man, Jim Caldwell to be their next head coach. The Lions were looking for an offensive guy and when Ken Whisenhunt signed with. Tennessee, the Lions took Caldwell. Caldwell had won 2 Super Bowls in 3 appearances. He was 1-2 with Peyton Manning in his Colts days as a HC. He won another with the Ravens and Joe Flacco. The Lions really need to polish their Franchise QB Matthew Stafford, his real problem is he throws too many picks and makes bad decisions. The Lions must put the cherry on top for their D and really work on a receiving core, they have All-purpose RB Reggie Bush and maybe the best WR in the league, Calvin Johnson. Christiano Ronaldo won his second men’s player of the year called the Ballon D’or. He beat Messi and when you compare their stats, they made the right decision. Ronaldo had 69 goals to Messi’s 45. Ronaldo plays for Real Madrid in La Liga BBVA, and plays for the Portugal national team who will play in the same division as the US national team. In the NFL, another coaching vacancy was filled. The Tennessee Titans hired Chargers offensive coordinator Ken Whisenhunt not even 24 hours after his Chargers were knocked out of the playoffs. Whisenhunt has coached as an Head Coach for the Cardinals for 5 years and was an OC last year for San Diego . He went to a Super Bowl with the Cardinals and played as a TE for 7 seasons. For the Titans, they finished with a respectable 7-9 for a team like them. The Titans can improve their offense this offseason but losing star RB Chris Johnson is a high possibility. The Knicks played a good game last night vs. The Rolling Suns. The Suns are having a good season and definitely better than expected. Manning Makes it Happen

In yesterday’s final Divisional playoff games in the NFL we saw 2 very exciting games. In Mile High for the Broncos vs. Chargers game, Peyton Manning had his usual game. This game looked highly into the Broncos favor until the 4th quarter. With the Broncos up 17-0 at the start of the 4th quarter, the Chargers scored a TD then same for the Broncos. Then the Chargers got a Mile High Miracle catch and then a TD to be down by 10. The Chargers got an onside kick turned it into a FG. They kicked it off to Denver and the Broncos played good possession and Manning and Julius Thomas worked to get 2 game sealing 1st downs. The Broncos won 24-17. Peyton Manning threw for 230 and 2 TD’s. RB Knowshon Moreno played a big part running for 82 yards and a TD. On the other side, the Chargers had a pretty good game . QB, Philip Rivers had 217 yards in the air and 2 TD’s. Rookie WR, Keenan Allen had 6 catches for 142 yards and 2 TD’s. He is a high favorite to win Rookie of the Year. They will have a similar but a little bit better season. For the Broncos, they will play the Pats at home in another Manning /Brady matchup! I am very excited!
