Farewell Captain

“Now Batting, Shortstop, number 2, Derek Jeter”. Those famous words from the PA announcer were announced to Jeter like no other at all Yankee home games since is arrival. Those words will not be used in April of 2015 because Derek Jeter is retiring after this season. The new thing on social media is post a picture of Jeter and write #farewellcaptain. #2 is the Yankees captain and one of the best leaders of this stories franchise and of all-time in sports. Despite being a Mets fan, I may respect Jeter as much as any player to play the game. He was a true example to all pro athletes who should follow in his footsteps. Jeter had some awesome moments as a Yankee, my top 5 (not in order) 1- Jump in the stands/ face cut running catch 2- 3000th hit was HR 3- Fan interference HR 4- ALL THOSE WORLD SERIES WINS 5- Back hand flip to force play at the plate out Jeter in my mind WILL be a 1st ballot hall-of famer when he’s able to. But his friend Mo (Mariano Rivera) will be a year before him. Here are some of his notable stats… A remarkable 312 batting average, 3316 hits, 1876 runs scored, 348 stolen bases, 256 HR’s and 1261 RBI’s. He has a long list of achievements including 5 World Series championships, 1...

BIG BLUE tops OSU

What did I watch last night? Olympics? NBA? Nope! My Big Blue (Michigan) vs Ohio State. The motto? BEAT OHIO!!!! We’ll my wolverines came back from deficits in the 1st half, they dominated in the 2nd half scoring 44 points and won 70-60. Both these teams are definitely making the Tourney. Maybe Michigan can make another Cinderella run and win almost like last year 🙁 . If Mitch McGary comes back in the tourney, they have a large chance with Nik Stauskas playing like a 1st round pick and their X factors are a big part. In the NBA, the Thunder and Blazers had a very good game, it was close but OKC won from some bad Portland shooting. The Suns almost beat the Heat but that feat must of been really hard to imagine with LeBron James scoring 37. All-Star weekend is coming right...

CP3 is Back!

The LA Clippers got Star PG Chris Paul back from injury and they started STRONG! The 1st Quarter was 45-15 at the break! The Clippers led the 76’ers 69-30! The Clippers continued dominance and won 123-78. Here are your top scorers of yesterday. 1: Kevin Durant 41 2: Isaiah Thomas 30 3: Kyrie Irving 28 4: Paul George 27 5: Chris Kaman 27 As you see, KD continued his dominance in the Thunder’s 12 point win vs NY. He’s my favorite for MVP but their’s still A LOT of B-ball left. Pistons coach Maurice Cheeks was fired in his 1st season with a 21-28...

Game Winning Dunk?

Who’s seen that before? On a steal with seconds by the magic and down by 1. They went on a fast break and gave it to Tobias Harris and he SLAMMED it in at the buzzer for a Magic win. Considering that they were playing the Thunder, it was a pretty good game. Magic 103- Thunder 102. Final. Baseball: in baseball, the last signings are coming, Closer Fernando Rodney signed with the M’s for $14 M over 2 years. This was very expected. The Mariners are in FULL rebuilding mode, great signing for them. With this signing, the Mets are now interested in closer Joel Hanrahan. The D-Backs have apparently signed Pitcher Bronson Arroyo to a 2 year, $19 M deal. There is an option for the veteran which I think is unlikely is an $11 M option for 2016. Great deal for the D-Backs, if their batters do well , it can be a long trip in the playoffs. Not much is left and Batters and Pitchers are reporting to Spring Training today and throughout the week. GO...
