Baseball award winners

The managers of the MLB and the Rookies of the year have been announced and the Cy Young winners. Managers of the year: NL- Clint Hurdle -Pirates: Clint Hurdle led the Pirates to their 1st winning season in 2 decades. He also played catcher on the last Pirates team with a winning record. The Pirates were stopped short in the playoffs. AL- Terry Francona – Indians: It’s every year, ” oh look! The Indians are doing horrible! Haha!” That was not the case this year when the Indians made a playoff run with new coach Terry Francona. Their recent problem was not finishing a season. Every year they could be in 2nd place but start a losing streak and fall apart. That was not the case this year when they all came together and started to win. The Indians got into the playoffs by a wild card birth. Cy Young: NL- Clayton Kershaw – Dodgers: Clayton Kershaw put up RIDICULOUS numbers this year in wins and his best, ERA with 1.83. Over the the course of the year people were comparing him to former Dodger legend Sandy Koufax. This was Kershaw’s 2nd Cy Young award. AL- Max Scherzer- Tigers: After facing off vs Matt Harvey in the All-Star game he has won a Cy Young. Scherzer put up great numbers this year with a 21-3 record. He did average...

Bucs pull out 1st win

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers, played the distracted Dolphins, from the Richie Incognito and Jon Martin case, on Monday night football. The 0-8 Jaguars pulled out their 1st win Sunday, vs the Titans, 29-27. The Bucs, (also from Florida), were the only winless team left coming into last nights game. That stat did not last long. The Bucs came out explosive and stayed like that the whole game. Corner Back , Darrelle Revis had a great pick, the Bucs also had a safety and some sacks. They only let up 2 rushing yards to Lamar Miller. After RB Doug Martin was put on the season ending IR, rookie Mike James came in, he had a terrific game last week vs the Seahawks rushing for 158 yards and threw a TD. He was injured on the 1st drive when LB, Dannele Ellerbee fell on his ankle. He is on my fantasy team and I am planning to keep him. The best news I can give you is a fractured ankle to him. There is no return time for him. The Dolphins were slow the whole game. QB, Ryan Tannehill found a primary slot receiver, Rishard Matthews. He had 11 receptions and 2 TD’s. WR, Mike Wallace is losing his place in the offense. The players do not blame the loss on their major distraction, but my guess is they were. Miami...
