5-2-15 Continues

Today was remarked my many (including me) as the biggest sports day ever! With some playoff games and the big May-Pac fight of the century coming up, here’s a recap on today so far… NFL Draft (Rd 4,5,6,7): The final rounds of the NFL draft finished just now with Louisville TE Gerald Christian being the lucky one drafted last as Mr.Irrelevant by AZ! This has been an amazing draft with some great steals but no major trades as in big NFL players with the Jets getting Zac Stacy and Deveir Posey in trades as the only team! A big...

NFL Draft 2K15!

Round 1 of the draft is over and 32 new players have officially entered the NFL! Congrats! My thoughts on the draft in general- I’m always excited for the draft but every pick obviously is not a good pick YET. We’re all holding are breath during the season for our big fish to develop and become a star and leader. Otherwise, it’s a bust and that good pick that you talked about today, can be a team’s biggest mistake passing on a hall of famer… Draft Notes- #1 pick Jameis Winston and #2 pick Marcus Mariota were picked as back-to-back QB’s 1 and 2 for the 1st time since RG3 and Luck were back to back!  RB’s Todd Gurley and Melvin Gordon were the 1st RB 1st round picks in a LONG time! Congrats to them!  Grading the top 10 picks- #1- Jameis Winston: The Bucs needed a QB…Badly. They got the guy they wanted and in a smaller market, they can hopefully calm down Winston’s off the field issues with the comments that he often makes and more. He’s gotta be careful. His playing is awesome and he’s a star on the field but they must watch his interceptions which was a problem. He has big targets in V-Jax and Mikey Evans so he can start with a decent WR core. #2 Marcus Mariota- This was the golden...

A LOT Happened

Here’s some big headlines from a big day in sports yesterday… Baseball- -Orioles and White Sox complete 1st game with no fans in history -Mets lose from Ichiro’s 1st Marlin HR 7-3 and Mets lose back to back series’s NBA- -Hawks take 3-2 series lead vs Nets with 107-97 win last night -Grizzlies take the series 4-1 after a big 99-93 win over the Blazers in a surprising series NHL- -The crazy 1st round ended last night with the Lightning beating Detroit 2-0 and taking the series in a crazy game 7! NFL- -The Music is back and the draft is today! The draft will take place in Chi-Town for the first time in 51 years after being in mostly NY for 50 years! The Bucs hold the 1st pick and like everyone else, I see them taking Winston as an obvious choice no arguments. The 2nd pick from Tennesee will probably determine the fate of this draft with maybe Mariota being picked or Leo Williams, or possibly a trade to NYJ, Cleveland, Philly, Chicago and more! I really think with new, aggressive and great GM Mike Maccaganan of the Jets, that will lead to a SMART pick which can fill a Jets need. Here are their most likely options: They can draft Mariota and be done with Geno for good. They can really establish a great WR core...

Bucks and Nets Avoid Elimination!

The 1st round is getting deeper into day by day and the games are great! Here’s a recap on yesterday… The Nets who looked hopeless lately made a mark beating the #1 Hawks 91-83! The Nets played great with Joe Johnson, Brook Lopez and Thaddeus Young grabbing double-doubles while Bojan Bogdanovic had 19 despite D-Will having another disappointing game with 3 points. The Hawks definitely did not have their best game stat wise with Kyle Korver only scoring 2 and Al Horford putting only 7 on the board. Paul Milsap had 18 points and 17 rebounds while teammate Demmare Carroll had 22 points. The Hawks are only up 2-1 The Bucks avoided a sweep from Chicago with a 92-90 win with another Bayless buzzer-beater! The Bucks drew up a beautiful play to score while Bayless got away from D-Rose on a move! It looks like the Bulls series anyway but it’s nice to see a young team win and put some experience under their belt for the future! The Grizz took a demanding 3-0 series lead over the Blazers despite the Blazers starters combining for 79 points in a close 115-109 win. The Grizzlies played good keeping the lead throughout the game and look very strong right now.. I gotta give credit to New Orleans for being close with the amazing Warriors as a young team in the west....
