I would start this piece by talking about the bitter end to the season for Chicago on a crazy missed FG; but there are more important things to cover: How TERRIBLE the Bears played last night in their loss to Philadelphia.
. . .
CODY PARKEY did NOT choke. The BEARS choked!
. . .
Am I defending Parkey? Not necessarily because there’s no feeling bad for a professional who is paid a TON to execute his job on the highest stage; and he failed to do that. There’s no defending him there.
. . .
“Blocked” or not, this game wasn’t about his miss. That was just an unfortunate way to end it. The Bears flat out sucked last night and deserved to lose.
. . .
First of all, there was no offensive creativity and aggressiveness. Between the lack of urge to throw the ball downfield to a busted Eagles secondary, to the uninvolvement of many skill players like Tarik Cohen; it was a mess.
. . .
The defense did play well, but there’s no excuse for letting them score on the last drive like that and hiding under the pressure.
. . .
Worst of all, this is the least motivated I’ve seen the Bears all season. They looked shot, which is shocking considering they are a young squad eager to show that they were legit. Clearly, they thought differently. There’s no excuse to lose to a busted team like the Eagles AT HOME in a hostile environment when you’re better on both sides of the ball! It’s disgraceful.
. . .
That’s it for my rant. The Eagles deserved this win. THEY played with heart. The Bears… not so much.
. . .
