Happy New Year!!! The sports world of 2015 kicks off today and viewers around the world are looking for an AWESOME year in the sports world! A lot is coming up now with the NFL Playoffs starting Saturday, the Winter Classic today and the 1st annual College Football Playoff!

College Football-

Bowl Games have been continuously going on in college Football and now we’ve entered the time of the biggest ones… Here’s a recap on what happened yesterday and whats coming today:

Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl- Mississippi (Ole Miss) vs. TCU:

Ole Miss and TCU (especially) were early Playoff options in this new playoff, but both were edged out (mostly TCU) by a tiny bit.. Anyway this game was a rout while TCU showed where they belonged and won 42-3 over Ole Miss! QB Trevone Boykin threw for 3 TD’s and 3 picks in the win while his D showed off and had a 0 yard and 100 yard Pick 6’s!  In my opinion TCU should have made the playoff over OSU for sure…

Vizio Fiesta Bowl- Boise St. vs. Arizona:

Unlike the game before, this was a close game while Boise St. edged out a slim 8 point win over ‘Zona while they had a crazy defensive hold in their 20 yd line in the closing seconds to win! With the win, Boise is 3-0 in the Fiesta Bowl. RB Jay Ajayi led Boise to the win with 3 TD’s on the ground and 134 yards while his fellow receiver Thomas Sperbeck caught for 199 yards on 12 catches…

Capital One Orange Bowl- Mississippi St. vs. Georgia Tech:

I really thought Mississippi St. would make a big statement in this game after falling apart at the end of the year and missing the playoff after starting unbeaten and beating #1 Bama. But today they were outmatched vs. a good Georgia Tech team 49-34. Mississippi st. QB Dak Prescott threw for this bowl’s record- 453 yards and 3 TD’s also having a rush TD. But Synjyn Days held Georgia Tech together with 240+ total yards and 3 total TD’s!

Today’s Games:

Outback Bowl- Auburn vs. Wisconsin

Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic- Michigan St. vs. Baylor

Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl- Missouri vs. Minnesota

*Games Below are for the Playoff semi’s*

Allstate Sugar Bowl- Alabama vs. Ohio State

Rose Bowl- Oregon vs. Florida State

I will hopefully write a recap tomorrow on these games so stay tuned 🙂

Football:

Bills coach Doug Marone opted out of his contract to become a Free agent after a surprising 9-7 season in 2014. The Jets are a strong competitor for Marone while he coached there O-Line in 2002. If the Jets get him it will be a boost for the franchise and fan support to get a recently successful coach… Where will he go, we don’t know…

Hockey:

The 7th annual Winter Classic will be played today at Nationals Park home to the washington Nationals baseball team. The Capitals and Blackhawks will face off today in an entertaining matchup of good teams. Its planned to be a fun filled pre game and game itself…

Happy New Year again and stay tuned with THE 1st annual COLLEGE.FOOTBALL.PLAYOFF 2014-2015!!!
