When the NFL community talks about “Offensive-Mastermind” Head Coaches they think of guys like; Andy Reid, Sean McVay
and Matt Nagy – just to name a bunch – mostly because of their amazing team successes.
. . .
Though, whenever that conversation about best offensive coaches in the league pops-up, there is ALWAYS one name missing; 49ers HC, Kyle Shanahan.
. . .
To start, ZERO extremely in-depth stats are necessary to show how over looked Shanny is as a HC. The facts are simple…
. . .
If you LITERALLY look at the QB’s he’s worked with since becoming a HC in Washington in 2012 – to an OC for the Falcons during their SB run – and now the 49ers; you can see how UNBELIEVABLE he’s done.
. . .
First, he coached a Rookie RG3 to an unreal ROY-caliber season until injuries derailed his career.
. . .
Following that, he called one of the most insane QB seasons ever with Matt Ryan, as he became the runaway MVP and went down in the record books.
. . .
Now with the 49ers, here’s are his MOST impressive feats by my eyes.
. . .
First, he threw in Jimmy G just a few weeks into the Niners’ system with below average receivers; and lead a bottom-3 talent team to a 6-0 record to close the season. Jimmy was unreal in those six starts and earned himself a massive extension after just 8 career starts; including those 6.
. . .
Then this season following Jimmy’s injury, he’s taken two complete castaways in second year QB’s C.J. Beathard and Nick Mullens, transforming BOTH into guys who were putting up starting-quality numbers; especially Mullens as of late.
. . .
It really just proves that the best coaches are the ones who DEAL with what they are given and work with it to the best of their abilities.
