Too Painful

Yesterday I learned listening to a Final 4 game on the radio in the last seconds of your favorite team’s game (especially when their tied or losing) is a PAINFUL and bad idea.  Oh yeah, I forgot.  When your team Loses! Its even more painful… Here are the 2 recaps of last night’s Elite 8 games… Michigan vs. Kentucky: What a game. Michigan was shooting the jumper really well in this game as always because that’s their strength. Rebounding and crashing the boards is disappointing for this BIG BLUE squad. Kentucky did just that and BIG MAN Julius Randle had 16 points and 11 boards to push UK to the win.  Here are my 2 reasons why UMich lost: 1-rebounds, with Julius Randle crashing the boards the whole game, Michigan couldn’t find a big man to guard him. 2- Bench production was scarce in the loss with Spike Albrecht scoring 0 for 1 and the whole bench getting 11 points in all.  Kentucky on the other side was great with strong games by Andrew Harrison with 8 points, 6 dimes and 3 boards, James Young with 13 points, Julius Randle with 16 points and 11 boards, Aaron Harrison with 12 points and Dakari Johnson with 8 points. Off the bench, Marcus Lee scored 10 and grabbed 8 boards and the 3 players on the bench combined for 18 points.  The game came down to a 72-72 tie and Aaron Harrison hitting the...

Down to North Texas!

The final Four is on! 2 teams have clinched final 4 spots so far and the 2 games today will determine the other 2. I am rooting for my BIG BLUE and hoping they can pull out a win tonight.  Here are the sums of last nights match ups… #1 Florida vs. #11 Dayton Flyers…  An expected ending for a young and talented Dayton team came to real-life yesterday when the Flyers lost to #1 Florida 62-52. Dayton had a Cinderella run this year after being seeding at #11 and beating #6 Ohio State in the 1st round to mess up ALL the brackets (including mine), then beat #3 Syracuse in a very close game and then beating #10 Stanford in the Sweet 16. On the other side, my bet to play vs UMich in the finals is #1 Florida. Florida has been routing all of their opponents with 12 (Albany), 16 (Pittsburgh), 11 (UCLA) and 10 (Dayton) point wins in the tourney. UF has a very talented team only losing 2 games this year and being the victors for 36 of them. Led by Scottie Wilbekin‘s 23 points and Dorian Finney-Smith‘s 9 boards, UF got the much needed win vs. Dayton.  UD’s top player Dyshawn Pierre had 18 points and 5 assists in the tough loss. UF will play the winner of Michigan st. vs. UConn in the final four. With many young stars coming back, Dayton can...

Messi Earns Hat Trick in “El Classico”

There’s our special events, then there’s El Clasico when Real Madrid and Ronaldo, face off against Messi and his Barcelona squad. Andres Inesta led off the game with a quick goal in the 6th minute for Barca and they were leading 1-0. Real Madrid came back with Karim Benzema scoring 13 minutes later. Benzema showed his skills again with another goal 4 minutes later to lead 2-1. Then the Messi show started with him scoring in the 41st minute and tie it up at half. Ronaldo scored his lone goal in the 54th minute when fouled in the box and scored. That was all Real Madrid would get when Messi scored 2 penalty shots (64, 83) to win 4-3 and secure a Hat Trick. That was Messi’s 2nd outing in El Clasico that he scored a Hat Trick. That game should keep Barca in the race for numero uno in the La Liga standings… What a day in b-ball! Here is a quick report on the games… Wichita St.’s undefeated hopes were crushed yesterday vs. Kentucky losing 78-76. What a great season for the #1, 35-0 (not including this loss) Shockers. Stanford beat Kansas in a 3pt upset win yesterday. That could be Freshman andrew Wiggins’s final game as a Jayhawk. Baylor beat Creighton in Doug McDermott’s last game as a Blue Jay, he will be remembered as “Doug McBuckets” for his scoring. he scored 3,150 points in...

Knicks Win vs. #1 Pacers

The Knicks are on a 7 game streak in the win column including a huge win vs Indiana last night at the Garden.  New President of the Knicks, Phil Jackson received a standing ovation at the game by the fans. “Zen Master” of b-ball will help the Knicks in every aspect of the game including free agency. Now to the game…   SF Carmelo Anthony was the star of the game as always with 34 points in 12-23 shooting. He added 5 rebounds and 3 assists. Amar’e Stoudemire 21 points of 8-15 shooting in the Knicks win adding 4 rebounds in his effort. Amar’e stepping up every game would help this Knicks squad a lot.  Center  Tyson Chandler had his usual game 7 points and 14 rebounds. The Knicks need him to grab those rebounds as much as he can. Rising Star Rookie Tim Hardaway Jr had an uncharacteristic game to the level play he has been playing. He scored ZERO points in the win. NYK will need him and his 3’s to win more games.  Pacers SG Paul George had 17 points in the loss shooting 4-17 from the field. After this disappointing game, George should really step up his game.  What will happen with NYK in coming games? March Madness is starting TODAY baby! My Bracket is full and I will tell you my results soon.  GO BLUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 🙂 🙂...

CRUSH Davis Homers in Win!

Sarasota, Florida– The Yankees battled the Orioles yesterday and it was a good game. The game was a pitching battle with only 11 hits through both teams. Both teams went hitless through 3 quick innings until former Oriole, Brian Roberts got a hit for NYY. 1B Francisco Arcia homered for the Yankees to make it 1-0. But that was all they got when 1B Chris Davis homered and tied it at 1. Delmond Young hit a double and Jemile Weeks pinch ran for him. He stole a base and scored! The Orioles led 2-1 and that was the final score! Newly acquired to the O’s, Suk Min Yoon was the winning pitcher.
