Crack of the Bat is Music to my Ears

One of my best friends is coming to town, Baseball. Yesterday was the 1st day of official spring training games in the MLB. Sorry for the inconvenience of no stats but a player really stood out, Athletics OF Josh Reddick stole 2 homers from Michael Morse over the wall and that could stand as #1 for the rest of the season. Too bad for me, my Mets will not play for another 2 days 🙁 A note on my Mets, projected opening day pitcher Jon Niese will most likely start the year on the disabled list because of his...

FEAR THE BEARD!!!

There are only 2 beards that are more awesome than Rockets SG James Harden’s, 2- Brian Wilson Dodgers Closer and 1- the Red Sox playoff ones. But you really had to “Fear the Beard” last night whenJames Harden was doing his thing last night with 43 points ONLY through 3 Quarters of playing! The Rockets won 129-103. LeBron James broke his nose on a Nasty dunk a few days ago and he has not played since the Heat’s blowout win Vs. OKC. James should be rested as much as possible to let him rest, a top playoff spot is almost secured, but the playoffs are still a while to wait… With buyouts flying in the air, a lot of x-factors can land on your favorite team from waivers. I will hopefully find out the transactions. MLB: Spring Training has officially started with the 1st official spring training games today! I am SOOOOOOOO Excited!!!! 🙂 I really missed our National Pastime over the winter! I am hoping my Mets will made a deal with SS Stephen Drew and he would really help. I also heard Mets 1B Ike Davis changed his swing that looks like he’s doing a split next to home plate and his swing is not very good. Making both those changes will turn Davis around from his Slumping. Heisman Trophy winner Jameis Winston and his Florida St...

Farewell Captain

“Now Batting, Shortstop, number 2, Derek Jeter”. Those famous words from the PA announcer were announced to Jeter like no other at all Yankee home games since is arrival. Those words will not be used in April of 2015 because Derek Jeter is retiring after this season. The new thing on social media is post a picture of Jeter and write #farewellcaptain. #2 is the Yankees captain and one of the best leaders of this stories franchise and of all-time in sports. Despite being a Mets fan, I may respect Jeter as much as any player to play the game. He was a true example to all pro athletes who should follow in his footsteps. Jeter had some awesome moments as a Yankee, my top 5 (not in order) 1- Jump in the stands/ face cut running catch 2- 3000th hit was HR 3- Fan interference HR 4- ALL THOSE WORLD SERIES WINS 5- Back hand flip to force play at the plate out Jeter in my mind WILL be a 1st ballot hall-of famer when he’s able to. But his friend Mo (Mariano Rivera) will be a year before him. Here are some of his notable stats… A remarkable 312 batting average, 3316 hits, 1876 runs scored, 348 stolen bases, 256 HR’s and 1261 RBI’s. He has a long list of achievements including 5 World Series championships, 1...

Game Winning Dunk?

Who’s seen that before? On a steal with seconds by the magic and down by 1. They went on a fast break and gave it to Tobias Harris and he SLAMMED it in at the buzzer for a Magic win. Considering that they were playing the Thunder, it was a pretty good game. Magic 103- Thunder 102. Final. Baseball: in baseball, the last signings are coming, Closer Fernando Rodney signed with the M’s for $14 M over 2 years. This was very expected. The Mariners are in FULL rebuilding mode, great signing for them. With this signing, the Mets are now interested in closer Joel Hanrahan. The D-Backs have apparently signed Pitcher Bronson Arroyo to a 2 year, $19 M deal. There is an option for the veteran which I think is unlikely is an $11 M option for 2016. Great deal for the D-Backs, if their batters do well , it can be a long trip in the playoffs. Not much is left and Batters and Pitchers are reporting to Spring Training today and throughout the week. GO...

Focused on Gold

Olympics: The Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia are coming VERY SHORTLY, and I have some breaking news. Shaun White of team USA is dropping out of Slopestyle because he doesn’t want to aggravate a potential wrist injury, he will focus on winning his 3rd straight Gold which would make history in Halfpipe. I am VERY excited for Hockey, it will be VERY intense. Baseball: Braves 1B Freddie Freeman signed a MONSTER contract with the Atlanta Braves, it is worth $135 Million and for 8 years. He will average a $16.875 Million for 8 years. If he keeps up his 20+ Home Run average a season and stays healthy, the deal for the power hitter is perfect. Freeman is only 24. This is the largest contract in Braves history. Spring training is approaching us and Pitchers and Catchers will report to their Spring training locations in 2 Days! But some key free agents are still homeless, here are the top pick-ups available. Pitchers- Fernando Rodney, Bronson Arroyo, Ubaldo Jimenez, Ervin Santana and A.J Burnett. Batters- Stephen Drew and Nelson Cruz Remember, new rules say every free agent signing risks a 1st round pick only if you are out of the top 10 picks, those teams risk a 2nd rounder. This will be an AWESOME season. Basketball- it was a good day in B-ball yesterday, we saw some great games! Here...
