Down to North Texas!

The final Four is on! 2 teams have clinched final 4 spots so far and the 2 games today will determine the other 2. I am rooting for my BIG BLUE and hoping they can pull out a win tonight.  Here are the sums of last nights match ups… #1 Florida vs. #11 Dayton Flyers…  An expected ending for a young and talented Dayton team came to real-life yesterday when the Flyers lost to #1 Florida 62-52. Dayton had a Cinderella run this year after being seeding at #11 and beating #6 Ohio State in the 1st round to mess up ALL the brackets (including mine), then beat #3 Syracuse in a very close game and then beating #10 Stanford in the Sweet 16. On the other side, my bet to play vs UMich in the finals is #1 Florida. Florida has been routing all of their opponents with 12 (Albany), 16 (Pittsburgh), 11 (UCLA) and 10 (Dayton) point wins in the tourney. UF has a very talented team only losing 2 games this year and being the victors for 36 of them. Led by Scottie Wilbekin‘s 23 points and Dorian Finney-Smith‘s 9 boards, UF got the much needed win vs. Dayton.  UD’s top player Dyshawn Pierre had 18 points and 5 assists in the tough loss. UF will play the winner of Michigan st. vs. UConn in the final four. With many young stars coming back, Dayton can...

CRUSH Davis Homers in Win!

Sarasota, Florida– The Yankees battled the Orioles yesterday and it was a good game. The game was a pitching battle with only 11 hits through both teams. Both teams went hitless through 3 quick innings until former Oriole, Brian Roberts got a hit for NYY. 1B Francisco Arcia homered for the Yankees to make it 1-0. But that was all they got when 1B Chris Davis homered and tied it at 1. Delmond Young hit a double and Jemile Weeks pinch ran for him. He stole a base and scored! The Orioles led 2-1 and that was the final score! Newly acquired to the O’s, Suk Min Yoon was the winning pitcher. Chris Davis had a HR and went 2-3 with a single and Delmond Young hit a single and a double in the win. Francisco Arcia went 1-2 with a homer and a walk in the loss. Ramon Flores went 1-2 with a double and former Oriole Brian Roberts went 2-3 with 2 singles. What an awesome game… News from ALL SPORTS!!!- MLB: In the Yankees 2nd game of the day in Panama, they had a reunion with Panama native and former Yankee pitcher Mariano Rivera. That wasn’t the focus of the game, the Marlins were! The Marlins pitchers combined to throw a no-hitter! The Marlins were on top 5-0 at the end. The Mets had 2 games...

McCutchen Homers in Pirates Win

In his 1st at bat of the game, Pirates CF Andrew McCutchen hit his 3rd homer of the spring and led his team to a win in his 6 innings played.     Travis Snider went 2-3 in the win with a double and a single.  The Pirates rallied back in the Bottom of the 8th with 4 runs of their own to go up 6-4. The Phillies could only tack on 1 more run in the ninth and the Pirates won 6-5.  Chase Utley of the Phillies had 2 RBI’s in the loss with a sac grounder and a double. He also reached 2nd on a pickle play. Ryan Howard hit a rare homer for the Phillies and that was his only hit. At the game we were lucky to see the starters play till the 7th inning from both teams. My Brother and I scored till the 7th and got an auto-graph from Pirates prospect Chase D’Arnaud! He is Mets starting catcher Travis D’Arnaud‘s brother! Today I am heading to the Yankees vs Orioles game! A full report on all sports coming...

NY Edges it out Late

The NY Mets played @ the Detroit Tigers today in spring training. Young Mets prospect, Noah Synderguard pitched 3 innings giving up 2 runs and striking out 3 in his up and down day. The Mets won it in the 9th with Matt Clark’s game winning, 2 run double. Juan Lagares had a pair of hits in the Mets 3-2 win. NY is now 3-5 in spring training while the Tigers are at 5-5. Football’s free-agent frenzy is starting to develop and here are some people to watch out for… QB: Michael Vick, Josh McCown, Matt Shaub RB: Maurice Jones-Drew, Chris Johnson, LaGarrete Blount, Ben Tate, Darren Sproles WR: Hakeem Nicks, Lance Moore, Julian Edelman, Golden Tate, Eric Decker TE: Jermichael Finley Jets TE Jeff Cumberland has re-signed with NY on a 3-year, $3.7 million deal yesterday, NY might look for another TE in the market, Cumberland is a plan-B for NY and a TE is the least of their worries. The Vikings have resigned QB Matt Cassel who was their only productive QB last season, to a 2-year, $10 million deal. Minnesota will look for anther guy under center in the draft and market. The Jaguars re-signed QB Chad Henne to a 2-year, $8 Million deal, Henne will most likely be a mentor for the next Jags QB after Henne’s few consecutive dissapointing seasons. The Jags may pick...

300th Blog!!!!

This is my 300th blog and I decided to make it extra special. You all probably know this, I am a BIG Mets fan and this blog will be written about the Mets spring training and what’s going on there… Position Battles: Spring Training is all about getting in shape for the upcoming season and Position Battles. The Mets have a couple so let’s start with 1st base. Ike Davis is my bet to win it over Lucas Duda for the 1st baseman job. Although Davis hit a disappointing .205 last season, I can tell he will improve from his average and I have even heard he tweaked his swing. I am looking forward to seeing his numbers this season. Despite some disappointing batting, I can see Davis winning the fielding battle over Duda. Duda had similar, but better numbers than Davis at the plate. If things go right, Davis will be at 1st on opening day. 5th Pitcher spot: the 5th starter is undetermined for the mets and here are the competitors- John Lannan, Jenrry Mejia, and Daisuke Matsuzaka. John Lannan signed with NY this offseason and Dice-K (Matsuzaka) was re-signed this offseason after signing a 1 year deal during last season. Mejia only pitched 5 games last season and he is unproven to this Mets squad in the Majors. He will probably land as a 2nd backup...
