As of late, two potentially huge trades for the Mets and new GM Brodie van Wagenen have been in serious talks.
. . .
The first is a trade for 36 year old 2B Robinson Cano from Seattle who’s looking to get rid of his massive contract, and give up a solid player as well.
. . .
The other is an offer by the Padres for SP Noah Syndergaard for a potential top prospect.
. . . . .
For the Cano deal, if the Mets are able to acquire Cano – a guy who is TOTALLY being negatively misinterpreted – and an awesome RP in Edwin Diaz, for a package headlined by Jay Bruce, and at most one prospect in the Mets’ top five, and one to two lower other prospects – I’d take it in a heartbeat. Anything less is a no from me.
. . .
On the Syndergaard deal, he’s UNTOUCHABLE unless the Mets can get the top prospect in Fernando Tatis, and a quality SP elsewhere. No reason to just trade great talent like Noah for anything short of amazing.
. . . . .
