We all may love the awesome Color Rush jerseys, and seeing our fantasy football players face off under the bright lights of Thursday Night Football; but we’ve officially hit the realization that TNF is DANGEROUS, and is not worth all the hype. Last night in the NFC West showdown between Seattle and Arizona, we saw Cardinals DB Tyvon Branch tore his ACL, Seahawks QB Russell Wilson was nearing the concussion protocol, and to top it off, big-name CB, Richard Sherman tear his Achilles’ tendon – ending his season immediately. We have enough evidence to prove that playing on a short week is awful for player safety – a huge deal in modern day football – and in addition, players themselves HATE it! Star WR Doug Baldwin stated after the game: “This s–t should be illegal. It is not OK. It’s not OK. You can quote me on that.” “This is not OK. … Absolutely, guys do not have enough time to recover. You can’t recover in four days.” He’s right, and it’s truly not fair. Nothing can cover up for the dangers of playing on short rest no matter how great and intriguing it is. Not to mention, only around of a third of the TNF games this season have been respectable and have lived up to the primetime hype… I mean even look at the London games… have we even had a good one yet? Those games have been unwatchable and making the NFL even more of a joke to those they’re aiming to intrigue across the pond. Anyway, something needs to be done and I genuinely wouldn’t be surprised if something were to change this coming season…
