After a disappointing 5-3 loss to the Pirates yesterday. The Mets fired hitting coach Dave Hudgens after the game after some really poor hitting this season and the past 3 with him. The Mets also announced the release of Veteran closer Jose Valverde after posting a 5.66 ERA this season with a 1-1 record. Look at this now. This all started when Bobby Parnell hurt himself and was ruled out for the season on opening day, that sent the Mets in panic mode for relief pitching. That came to 2 releases of veteran relievers who struggled mightily and call-ups of starters in the minors to move starters to the pen! Hitting must improve for NYM with a team .237 Batting Average with 186 RBI’s and 407 hits. They only got 195 runs and 123 extra base-hits. ย That led to the firing of Hudgens, Lamar Johnson will fill in for him. To add to the news, Mets young star, minor league pitcher, Noah Synderguard is getting his arm checked in NY today to check for a possible injury. Tonight, Jon Niese is on the hill for the Mets while Edinson Volquez is pitching for the Pirates…

Also in the MLB, after Josh Beckett’s no-no on Sunday, Hyun-Jin Ryu almost got one of his own going perfect for 7.1 innings with 7 K’s. He collapsed in the 8th with a total of 3 hits allowed and 3 earned runsย . That was 17 straight perfect innings for LAD, knowing Kershaw or Greinke did not throw it. Good signs all around for the Dodgers…

Other news- The Miami Heat defeated the Indiana Pacers 102-90 to go up 3-1 in the series. LeBron James had 32 points, 10 boards and 5 dimes in the win. Roy Hibbert scored a 0 in the points column once again.

NHL- The LA Kings surged to a 3-1 series lead after defeating the Blackhawks 5-2 last night. LA had the first 4 goals and 3 were in the 1st period. Great sigs all around for LA. My Rangers have a chance at the Stanley Cup finals tonight if they win in Montreal! GOOOOOOOOOOO RANGERSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚
