Last night I had my fantasy football draft which I was preparing for all summer long, yes that means studying in camp with my magazines and at home doing 14 mock drafts! We’ll, after my draft experience last night, I am so-so on my team. Here’s my report:

Overall I would give myself a B, (not a C+ Yahoo!). At QB I have Bears QB Jay Cutler. Why I picked him? He’s throwing to 2 top 12 WR’s in Alshon Jeffery and Brandon Marshall, plus RB Matt Forte and TE Martellus Bennett. If he uses them to his advantage, watch out. I got a great pair of RB in Vikings RB Adrian Peterson for my 1st rounder and Alfred Morris from the Redskins as my RB2. Peterson will hopefully put up AP, 1st round numbers this year. With Matt Cassel or Teddy Bridgewater playing QB, it will always be run 1st. With Morris, he’s playing in an explosive offense with QB Robert Griffin III who can run and pass to an explosive trio of WR’s Pierre Garcon and DeSean Jackson and my TE Jordan Reed. But at the same time, Morris can have a big year with RG3 spreading out the D… Im so-so with my (starting) WR’s of Victor Cruz and Torrey Smith because neither of them is a true, elite WR1 . Cruz is more of a low-mid end fantasy WR1 to high WR2 because of an inconsistent offense. But this year, plans for Cruz will be big hopefully with new rookie whose a speedy receiver, Odell Beckham jr. and new RB, Rashad Jennings. Hopefully with Eli Manning, my backup QB taking the snaps, he knows his best receiver, Cruz,  can do good things.  For Torrey Smith, he is the Ravens #1 wideout with former Super Bowl MVP Joe Flacco passing to him. If Flacco has a disappointing season like last year’s, Smith will not have a good year as well. But I Flacco does good, Smith will have a good season for a WR2 especially since the Ravens may be pass 1st this year because RB Ray Rice is suspended for the 1st 2 games and Bernard Pierce is starting. My TE, Jordan Reed was good in the games he started last season. This year, with big plans for his offense, he could be racking up TD’s in every game. He will be a red-zone threat on like a fade to the end-zone, and his receptions may not be like his fellow wide-outs, but each one will hopefully for big yardage. I drafted Eagles defense and Eagles new kicker Cody Parkey strictly because their playing the Jags Offense Week 1 and the Eagles will score a lot and Parkey will get points. This is just a strategy I’m using so nobody should judge me on those picks as in a whole season. I got great backups in WR Wes Welker who surprisingly enough fell from his 45 ADP to near 100! And I stole him 🙂  .  I also got explosive WR for the Titans, Justin Hunter who will have a huge season this year now that he’s proved himself to be a Titians top receiver last season. At RB, I got Bengals backup to Gio Bernard, Jeremy Hill to act as a flex man if I need him to start. At TE, I got Lions rookie TE, Eric Ebron who will be used to open up the field for star WR Calvin Johnson, still Ebron will get a good amount of targets .We have a 16 man league so a flex would be too much for most teams, but for me? I’m upset because I have legit starters for flex on my bench… We’ll se how this season goes for me as I lost my last 2 seasons because I knew nothing like I do this year and I wasn’t prepared. Also in part that I drafted a team of only people I knew in my 2012 draft and last year I was so un-decided on my team that I made 64 transactions, yes 64 moves to my roster…

If you can, give me a grade of my team in the comments 🙂
