Former Eagles wideout DeSean Jackson signed a 3 year, $24M contract with the Redskins after being released by the Eagles for a rumor of off the field incidents. Great deal for the Redskins, Jackson will help emerging young star Robert Griffin III with his deep throws a ton. Jackson had 7 TD’s of 15+  yards last season. He is also a weapon in the trick game option when he can run on a handoff for a TD. he will compete with the ‘Skins other #1 receiver Pierre Garçon for most of the catches. Jackson will also play his former team, the Eagles twice a year.  New HC Jay Gruden has some serious work to do…

The Mets and Yankees are now both 0-2 after losses last night.  The Yankees should be more concerned losing to in my opinion, the worst team in the league, the Astros. Pitcher C.C Sabathia had 6 ER in his 1st start on tuesday and Hiroki Kuroda lost it last night. Bad start for a team with very high expectations and in a tough division. The Mets on the other hand are playing the division favorites and the best team in the league by some people: the Nationals. Losing on Monday was a sure win lost for the Mets and last night was a very disappointing game with new pitcher Bartolo Colon letting up 3 runs and 1 HR to the opposing pitcher Gio Gonzalez. The Mets need to stop striking out with 31 K’s in their 1st 2 games. New Mets OF Curtis Granderson is hitless as a Met but I still believe he is worth the $60 M the Mets gave him this winter. New Met OF Chris Young exited last night’s game with a quad injury but I am sure he’ll be fine for the next game or 2. Bobby Parnell the Mets closer is also injured after undergoing surgery this past off season. Now with Parnell injured again, the Mets will turn to veteran RP Jose Valverde to close the games. The Mets are getting an offensive boost from OF Juan Lagares who fought hard this winter for a starting OF spot which he has earned with 2, 2 hit games. David Wright is also hitting well with 2 runs scored, 1 Homer, 3 RBI’s and is hitting .429 on 3-7 batting. The Mets by many are predicted to finish 3rd in the average NL East.
